Mental Health and Wellbeing

Reopening of schools - 8th March 2021

Even though we’ve been through it before, the return to school after a prolonged coronavirus lockdown is still a strange and challenging situation. It may take some time for us all to adjust to being back in the classroom once again, and there may be anxieties and concerns.

Below are some resources to help with the transition back into school. Many of these resources include lots of useful advice and activity suggestions.

At Gunness and Burringham we recognise the importance of mental health. We appreciate that everybody has mental health, sometimes this is positive and this can sometimes be negative. Whatever the feeling, we are here to support children and our families.

We offer a high level of understanding and empathy and staff work closely with children and their families to support wherever needed. Children are actively encouraged and supported in school to build resilience and have a "can do" attitude, this is built into the curriculum and is promoted in all that we do. Staff have regular training to ensure that they are fully equipped to advise and support, this is particularly crucial given the current climate that we are living in.

Should anyone need support please contact school where we will be happy to help and advise.
