Behaviour

Positive Behaviour

At Gunness and Burringham we pride ourselves on the positive relations that staff and children have with each other. We aim to create a safe environment where exemplary behaviour enables all to feel secure and respected within an atmosphere of high expectations to allow everybody to learn together and flourish.

Everyone in our school is expected to maintain the highest standards of personal conduct, to show kindness, compassion and respect to others and to accept responsibility for their behaviour and encourage others to do the same.

We follow the Paul Dix behaviour approach an believe that every child can be successful and should be recognised. We encourage and celebrate positive behaviour and work with children who need support to achieve this.

We follow our three school rules

We are Ready, Respectful and Safe

Every class has a Recognition Board with a key statement, clearly showing children what is expected of them. All children have the opportunity that their name goes on the board, this is an expectation and is celebrated.

Children are rewarded for being Ready, Respectful and Safe and are given Do Jo's. These are added together and children have the opportunity to "Cash these in" weekly at the Do Jo Trolley, further instilling that hard work is rewarded.

In the unlikely event that you have any concerns regarding the behaviour within the school, please speak to Mrs Sowerby directly who will work to resolve any issues in line with the school policy.
