PE and Sport Premium

At Gunness and Burringham we believe that sport and physical activity is crucial to a healthy lifestyle. We are passionate about allowing our children to engage and experience a range of physical opportunities to promote a sense of enjoyment, passion and stamina.  A positive experience of sport and physical activity at a young age can build a lifetime habit of participation and is central to meeting the government’s ambitions for a world-class education system.

In October 2017, the Government announced that they had doubled the Primary School PE and Sport Premium from £160 million per year to £320 million per year to help schools support healthier, more active lifestyles. The funding would enable primary schools to make further improvements to the quality and breadth of PE and sport they offer.

The government allocate money to schools to ensure that they have the financial ability to develop high quality physical education and healthy lifestyles. Schools have a statutory obligation to report on this spending to show the impact of any spending, any spending should aligned to the five key indicators.
