Welcome to Year 3/4!
Hello and welcome to a brand new term.
This half term in geography we will be continuing our learning on coastlines. As part of this learning we will be exploring human and physical features of coastlines, finding out about coastal erosion and the impact of coastal development on the coastline.
Our history unit this term is the Romans. We will be learning about why the Romans invaded Britain, when they invaded and what life was like in Roman Britain. We will learn about why the Romans left Britain and what they left behind.
In Science we will begin by looking at sound. We will explore pitch, volume and what happens to sound the further away it is from the sound source. We will then move onto learning about rocks. In our unit on rocks we will learn about different types of rocks, find out how rocks are made and compare different rocks.
Our work in art and DT will be linked to our learning on the Romans. The children will be designing and making their own Roman bags.
In PE the children will be taking part in a range of athletic activities, including throwing and jumping activities.
Our PE day will be on a Monday. Please make sure you have your indoor and outdoor PE kit in school. This term our PE lessons will mainly be outside however this is weather dependent. Homework will be set on Seesaw on a Friday. The homework activity will be either a Maths or English activity. Please continue to practise times tables and related division facts. Please read at least 3 times a week at home. Don't forget to practise your spelling using Spelling Shed and times tables using Times Tables Rock Stars.
