Welcome back to our class page!
We have such a busy half term planned for you with so many exciting things taking place.
Our new Christian Value for this term is 'Resilience'. All of the collective worships will teach the children about the importance of being resilient and persevering.
In Maths Year 1 are currently learning about fractions, before moving onto money and ending the year looking at numbers up to 100 in preparation for Year 2.
Year 2 are learning about fractions, before moving onto length and height and ending the year trying to secure our understanding of addition and subtraction where an exchange takes place.
In English we are writing postcards and delivering to the local community. We will then be starting a new Jane Consodine unit based around Oliver Jeffers- The Way Back Home. The focus will be on writing accurately punctuated sentences and using previously taught suffixes and prefixes in our writing.
We will also have a huge push on applying spelling rules in writing.
Our RE focus for the half term is the life journey of Christians. We will look at how Christians celebrate birth and what does it mean/why does it matter to belong?
Please remember to keep checking our gallery as we will be adding new pictures each week to show you some of the fantastic things that have been going on.
As always, please ensure that your child is reading AT LEAST 3 times per week at home and completing their homework each week.
If you have any problems, please contact us.
